Sergio Martinez Upsets Kelly Pavlik

No one expected that this fight turned to be a bad beating for the champion as the challenger rose to the occassion. Bloodied in all over his face, the champion Kelly Pavlik is no match for the Argentinean warrior Sergio Martinez. Early in the fight, Martinez established its fight plan to fight Pavlik as an unorthodox, made some early one-two punch combination and circling the ring that caught Pavlik off-guard. Halfway through the fight Pavlik found his rhythm and connecting solid right hands to Martinez and scored a knockdown in round 7. Pavlik would on his way to retain the title, but Martinez re-establishes the fight with a one-two-three-four combination in the Round 9 cruising to Round 12 and left Pavlik a bloody mess on the face. That proved to be the telling factor in the fight as Sergio Martinez was named the new WBO/WBC Middleweight champion, winning it by unanimous decision, 115-111, 116-111 and 115-112.

He is the first Argentinean lineal middleweight champion since the legendary Carlos Monzon.

Fresh from his 10th round TKO over former champion Roberto Vasquez, the WBA's No. 3 rank and the WBA's International Super Flyweight Champion Drian Francisco "Gintong Kamao" Francisco stops WBA's No. 2 rank Ricardo Nuñez in a one-sided match, with a fifth round stoppage. Francisco drops Nuñez twice in the first round with a left hook sending the Panamanian to the canvas. It looks like that Francisco smells victory, but Nuñez was able to get himself up. In round 2 it look like the Filipino looks to end the fight but Nunez keep answering back with body shots at Francisco. At round 4, Francisco saw the opening, hitting Nunez with looping left that saw the Panamanian in deep trouble. Nuñez fought back in the fifth round, but Francisco connects with a series of lefts and hitting Nuñez with a right sending him back to the canvas again. Battered once again, Nuñez fight back only to be hit by Francisco with a series of combinations capped by a left hook. Referee Bruce McTavish did not bother to count Nunez anymore, halting the end of the fight and giving the Filipino fighter the victory.

Lloyd Franciso, younger brother of Drian Franciso, won over Leonardo Doronio in their superbantamweight contest

Manny Pacquiao Vs Floyd Mayweather?

If this fight happens, there's no way that Floyd Mayweather will beat Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather is a thinking, defensive and the bigger fighter between the two, but Pacquiao has the speed and power. I think that this would be a hard fight for Manny but I strongly believe that he will remain on top. Mayweather is a boring fighter with the defensive style and counter punching as his ability. With the stamina and the all out attack by Pacquiao, Mayweather will have a hard time dealing with that.

Fearless forecast: Pacquiao will win by unanimous decision

My Own Pick: NBA Rookie of The Year Award

At the start of the NBA 2009-2010 Season, Brandon Jennings of the Milwaukee Bucks made a big burst as he scored a career high of 46 points on just his rookie season in the NBA. But as the season continues, he was scouted and defended well. With the addition of scorer John Salmons from the Chicago Bulls, Jennings was contented to be a real point guard of the team. Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Kings and Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors pick up its game to another level and remains consistent as the season of the NBA ends. Tyreke Evans led his team, and is the center point of his teams offense. As Evans continued to play as a rookie-like-veteran-player, Curry suddenly made his name into a contender of the NBA Rookie of the year award. Curry made some all around effort in the second half of the season and even leads his team in scoring in some games. It boils down to Tyreke Evans and Stephen Curry on winning the Rookie of the Year Award.

My Pick: Tyreke Evans will win the 2009
- 2010 NBA Rookie of the Year
